Convenience Store Robber Sentenced

A Derry woman charged with a robbery, attempted robbery of several local businesses and heroin possession has received a sentence of one to three years in prison.
Rochelle Richards, 23, of Derry pled guilty to the charges Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Rockingham Superior Court in Brentwood.
Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams said Judge Marguerite Wageling handed down the sentence of one to three years, plus five years probation.

As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Reams said, Richards pled guilty to robbing the East Derry General Store on April 7 and an attempt to rob the Londonderry Subway shop on April 9.
On Aug. 21, Richards was tried in Hillsborough County Superior Court for robbing D’Angelo’s on South Willow Street in Manchester on April 3 and the Candia Road Convenience Store off Interstate 93 on April 9. She pled guilty to the charges and received a sentence of 1 1/2 to five years at the New Hampshire State Prison, with three to six years suspended and five years probation.
Richards has been incarcerated at the State Prison for Women in Goffstown, where she is receiving treatment for her heroin addiction.
Richards, who confessed her heroin addiction, was originally held on $50,000 cash bail, which was amended to personal recognizance after she agreed to undergo drug treatment.
