Anderson Still on Paid Leave, No Word from State Police

As of press time Tuesday afternoon, July 23, the New Hampshire State Police were still investigating a resident’s complaint against Town Administrator John Anderson. Anderson, 50, is on administrative leave from his job after a special Town Council meeting July 12.

State Police Captain David Parenteau, head of the investigating team, said Friday, July 19, “The investigative work is going on. We have nothing to report at this point.”

The State Police are investigating the matter because it involves a high-ranking member of town government, Parenteau said, adding, “When it’s a situation like that, it generally gets referred to a different agency.” As the Town Administrator has not been formally charged, no details are being revealed about the alleged incident. Parenteau said any findings would be reported to the Town of Derry and the Derry Police Department.
