Town’s Senior Affairs Director Post Open Again

The post of Senior Affairs Director has opened again with the departure of Stacy Thrall, who stayed in the job just under three months. “We were certainly excited to welcome Stacy on board, but sometimes through one thing or another, things just don’t work out, and that was the situation here,” said Acting Town Manager William Hart last week. “We certainly wish her good fortune in her future endeavors.”

Her last day of work was May 3. She received her accrued vacation time but no severance package. Thrall had been paid $22.32 per hour. “No decisions have been made regarding posting the job,” Hart said. “We may reopen the existing list, given the short duration, or we may re-post the position, but no decision has been made as yet.”
Al Baldasaro, chairman of the Elder Affairs Committee, said he thought Thrall was doing a great job. When asked to comment, he said he was unaware of the details of her departure.

“Stacy was doing a great job,” he said. “I am unaware as to why she left. Stacy was former military and is a go-getter. Sometimes people don’t adapt to change and apparently it didn’t work out. She was always a valuable asset to the Elder Affairs Committee and she was second to none when it came to looking after elder affairs.”
Gladys Frederick of the Londonderry Seniors declined to comment and said any questions regarding Thrall should go to Hart.

Thrall began the Londonderry job on Feb. 19. She previously chaired the town’s Elder Affairs Committee. Her predecessor in the senior affairs director post was Kimberly Bean, who held the director’s position from July 2011 to December 2012. Longtime director Sara Landry left in April 2011 for the job of Pelham Senior Center director.
Thrall previously operated Here on Earth Adult Day Services, a day center for seniors, from her home. The number listed for Here on Earth Adult Day Services was not in service, and Thrall could not be reached for comment.
