Supervisor of Checklist Resigns

Londonderry Supervisor of the Checklist Debbie Currier has resigned her position as one of three state-mandated Supervisors of the Checklist because she has moved to Manchester and therefore cannot fulfill the residency requirement.

“It is with true regret that I offer my resignation as a Supervisor of the Checklist for the Town of Londonderry as of Aug. 15, 2013 because I will be moving to Manchester,” Currier’s letter of resignation said.

She wrote that she will miss her colleagues Gerry Van Grevenhof, who has held the Supervisor position for 33 years, and Ann Warner, who has held her position for five years. Currier had been a Supervisor for 28 years.

The Supervisors of the Checklist are elected positions with six-year terms.
“We will truly miss Debbie,” Van Grevenhof said. “She was a wonderful asset to the town.”
The remaining Supervisors voted to appoint Christine Tighe as interim Supervisor of the Checklist until the next election in March. Her start date was Aug. 19.

Van Grevenhof explained that the interim Supervisor will serve until the next election, when she can choose to run for a two-year term, which is the remainder of Currier’s term. The two-year seat will appear on the March 2014 ballot.
