Lancer Boy Booters Nab Scoreless Tie

After playing its second Division I contest of the new, 2013 season at Manchester Memorial late last week, the Londonderry High boys’ soccer team was still left looking for its first victory of the campaign. First-year coach Todd Ellis’ Lancers – who began the season with a tough 3-2 loss at the hands of Exeter at LHS during the campaign’s first week – battled their way to a scoreless tie with the host Memorial Crusaders in the Queen City in their lone contest of last week on Friday, Sept. 6. LHS junior midfielder Alex Walter drew praise from coach Ellis for his strong performance, and veteran goalie Bobby Krause also pleased his mentor with strong work between the pipes. “Bobby had six saves, including one great diving one to preserve the tie in overtime,” said Ellis.
