The Greater Londonderry Bolts’ boys U-15 soccer
team made history recently by becoming the first squad from Londonderry to
win a game in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships at the University of
Rhode Island in Kingston. The tournament was comprised of the 15 State Cup
Champions in Region I and a Premier League team. The locals didn’t just settle
for the one win, however. The Bolts also won their bracket and advanced to the
semifinals, earning a bronze medal. The team included, in front from left, Casey
Tardif, Nate Gaw, William Pineault, Thomas Stanley, Elijah Ellis, and Tim Bortnick,
